The champions league semi-finals 2021 will take place on Tuesday 27th April 2021 and Wednesday 28th April 2021.

Real Madrid play Chelsea while PSG play Man City as they battle for a place in the final. Real Madrid are looking to win their first champions league trophy since 2018. Los Blancos had won three champions league trophies in a row(2016,2017 and 2018) and this will be their 4th in a space of six years. Real face Chelsea, a club that won their last champions league trophy in 2012. Madrid are in the semifinals after knocking out Liverpool (2018/2019 champions league winners) by an aggregate score of 3-0.
Chelsea on the other hand are in the semis after knocking out Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 before easing past Porto in the champions league quarters. Real Madrid are superior to Chelsea when it comes to the number of champions league trophies they have won. Madrid have won 13 UEFA Champions League trophies more than any other club in Europe. Their closest rivals are AC Milan who have won 7 UEFA Champions League trophies. Chelsea have won one UEFA Champions League trophy and that was in 2012 where they beat Bayern 4-3 on penalties.
Zinedine Zidane will be aiming to lead Real Madrid to another champions league trophy by winning in the semis and the final. Thomas Tuchel on the other hand aims to reach the final for the second time in a row but with a different club and lead Chelsea to its first champions league triumph in almost a decade.
In the other semi-final clash, French heavyweights PSG take on English heavyweights Manchester City.PSG are looking to be in the champions league final for the second year running after losing to Bayern in last year’s final. The Parisians are in the semifinals after knocking out the current champions, Bayern Munich on away goals. Stars like Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr will aim to help PSG their first champions league trophy in the history of the club.PSG have never won the UEFA Champions League and have only reached the champions league final once and that was in 2020.
Manchester City are in the semis after knocking out Borussia Dortmund in a tie that could have gone either way. The Citizens are in the semi-finals for the first time since the 2015/2016 season. They have crashed out at the quarter-finals stage since then. Like PSG, Man City have never won the UEFA champions league trophy and will aim to win their first this season.
Mauricio Pochettino is hoping to win his first champions league trophy in his entire managerial career. He faces Pep Guardiola who has won 2 champions league trophies both with Barcelona. Pep has never won the champions league with a team that is not Barcelona and is yet to reach the final since he left Barca.
In the UK, both champions league semi-finals will be live on BT Sport 2 while Paramount+ will broadcast both champions league matches for viewers in the USA.
For viewers in Kenya, the champions league semi-final 2021 matches(both Real Madrid vs Chelsea and PSG vs Manchester City) will be broadcast live on Supersport Grandstand. Viewers in Nigeria and South Africa will also find this match on Supersport Grandstand.
